Mediation Marketing Queen is offering marketing makeovers…

Dear fellow mediation marketers (if you’re a mediator or conflict manager and want to grow your practice, you my friends, are a “mediation marketer”):

I have decided to give myself (Mediation Marketing Tips and Mediation Marketing Secrets) a marketing makeover.  I am also going to give away a free makeover during the first week of December to one of you!  Read on.

I have decided that I love (you never know until you try… ideas are interesting but action is revealing) helping other mediators learn how to market themselves.  I have received positive feedback from fellow mediators – some people have found my advice and consulting helpful and informative.

So, here are some ideas for my makeover:

Idea #1:

A branding persona:  I am going to brand myself as the “Mediation Marketing Queen.”  Do you like it?  Hate it?  Is it memorable?  I have to say I like it.  I love mediation marketing and studying marketing and business development in general.  I also passionately believe in the cause of helping other mediators make money and build a profitable practice because the world needs us to be in business.  I have to confess that deep inside of me is a little bit of a “drama queen” so the queen in the title compels me.  I  mean, can we talk?  I loved trial work because of this.  I loved living in a hotel for 8 weeks in a strange city going to court everyday.  Call me strange.  Part of it is because I’m an adrenaline junkie too, but I love a little drama.

Idea #2

Potential Title Makeover… What do you think about changing the name of the Mediation Business & Marketing Success System (I find it to be too long and cumbersome)…. to Mediation Rainmaking: how to attract all the clients you’ll need and build your dream practice…? (this is also long with the tag line but the main title “Mediation Rainmaking” isn’t.  What do you think? yes or no? 

A couple of people I tested this on didn’t get it.  They weren’t from the legal or service field where the term “rainmaking” is prevalent.  What do you think?  I really want to hear your thoughts… do you like the old title better or do you get the whole “rainmaking” concept?  vote with your comments below.

Teaching Point:  One thing I want you to understand is that your marketing titles and strategies should not be set in stone.  If after you try something out in the marketplace, you find that it is not compelling, change it!

Idea #3:

Title Transformation #2.  I wrote a 60 page action plan that guides mediators through a step by step process to creating their dream practice and creating a marketing plan that will attract clients.  It is a free bonus with the MBMSS.  It is currently called the Mediation Business & Marketing Success System Action Plan.  Long I know!

I am definitely changing this to:  Ultimate Mediation Marketing Plan: a step by step proven system for attracting clients and building your dream practice.

Have you taken time to look around your community at your competitors?  I realize that as mediators we are collaborators and may not want to think in terms of “competing” with our fellow mediators.  The reality is that if you have failed to carve out a niche for yourself and you are engaging in “me to marketing” and offering the same service to the same people as everyone else in your area — you are competitors.  The only way to get around this is to be different!  Have a different niche and have a unique spin on your services.
